The BF15s (at least the Chinese ones) have the bearing installed so that it is flush with one side of the support. If I were to put the ball screw through that side, I'd get some more travel on my axis. In the photos I've seen so far, the ball screw was always installed on the side where the bearing doesn't sit flush with the side of the support.
